About Me.

Hi, I’m Andrea Rhoads—a compassionate soul with a deep love for people and a natural ability to uplift those around me. As a LSWAIC in Washington and an RCSWI in Florida, I’ve turned my passion for connection, empathy, and support into a career, helping others find strength, healing, and happiness.

Outside of my work, I’m a proud mom to a spirited two-year-old who is the light of my life. My heart also belongs to my three incredible dogs—Moose, my adventurous Australian shepherd; Hazel, my witty little corgi; and Naomi, my sweet Bernadoodle. Dogs truly are a girl’s best friend, and my home is full of love (and fur!).

I feel most alive outdoors, whether it’s swimming, paddleboarding, or soaking up the sun on the beach. While I didn’t grow up in Florida, I know in my heart this is exactly where I’m meant to be.

Education

2024

Masters in Social Work

University of Pikeville Kentucky

Pursuing a Master’s in Social Work with an internship at the Trager Institute offered me a unique opportunity to develop a deep understanding of therapy modalities while gaining hands-on experience working with the aging population. This program provided comprehensive training in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, equipping me with the skills to support older adults in navigating complex emotional, social, and healthcare challenges. Through the internship at the Trager Institute, I engaged in interdisciplinary collaboration, applying my knowledge in real-world settings to enhance the well-being and quality of life of aging individuals.

2019-2022

Bachelor's in Social Work with a minor in Psychology

Mount Mercy University

Earning a Bachelor’s in Social Work provided a strong foundation in advocacy, support, and community engagement. Through two enriching internships—one with an afterschool program and another with Head Start—I gained firsthand experience working with children ages 2-10. These experiences involved facilitating support groups, encouraging early learning, fostering meaningful play, and promoting positive social behaviors like manners and emotional development. By working in diverse environments, I developed essential skills to empower young children, creating a supportive foundation for their growth and well-being.
